Preventative Maintenance Program

We understand that time is money to your business. Preventing costly downtime of your packaging equipment is our priority. Through scheduled preventative maintenance, our factory trained technicians will keep your equipment in prime condition and help extend the life of your packaging equipment.

Why Have Scheduled Preventative Maintenance?

There are many reasons to have a preventative plan in place:

  • Reduced production downtime from fewer machine breakdowns.
  • Eliminate premature replacement of equipment through conservation of assets and increased life expectancy.
  • Efficient use of consumable material.
  • Overall operator productivity and safety.

PackEdge will work with you to schedule the plan based on your manufacturing needs – monthly, quarterly or annually while considering manufacturer recommended intervals.

What Does the PackEdge Preventative Plan Include?

The PackEdge preventative maintenance program targets three key components of your packaging equipment: drive system, wear parts and safety devices.

Drive System

Your equipment or packaging system is tested under production level stress in order to determine if operating efficiently and effectively. Actions may include but are not limited to:

  • Removing covers to inspect drive components, reducers, and exposed wiring.
  • Checking wire terminations and make any necessary adjustments to motor drives.
  • Greasing all bearings and check for wear.
  • Lubricating and adjusting chains.

Wear Parts

Our technicians thoroughly examine and replace (if needed) the components most susceptible to damage. Components may include but are not limited to:

  • Belts
  • Blades
  • Brushes
  • Springs
  • Heating elements
  • Rollers

Safety Devices

The equipment’s safety devices are demonstrated to your onsite warehouse and/or production personnel. A detailed inspection of these safety devices will ensure your equipment operators are protected in case of emergency.
